Coaches/Sponsors:

 

 

  • Please register every athlete who may potentially run. No-shows are not a problem, but unregistered runners are. (see Entries below)

 

  • Race numbers will be provided for each athlete.  Registration packages which include numbers pins & maps will be available after 9:00 am.  All athletes MUST wear the numbers provided in the package pinned to their jersey.

 

  • Coaches are reminded: 

          - keep athletes off all fairways, tee boxes & greens

          - keep athletes off the course unless they are competing

          - keep athletes off the steep hill leading towards the train tracks

          - have athletes clean up after themselves

          - the clubhouse will be open with beverages (but walk around the course to get there)

          - buses MUST park on 7th and are not allowed in the parking lot

          - the course will be muddy and spikes are recommended

 

Eligibility:

 

  • Runners must have complete at least two sanctioned races for his/her school team during the 2009 season prior to the Fraser Valley Championships.
  • All schools/athletes must meet the requirements of their district regulations and local athletic associations.
  • All schools must be registered with the Fraser Valley Athletic Association and B.C. School Sports.
  • Athletes may only run in ONE race.
  • Athletes may only compete for the school in which they are enrolled.

 

NOTE:  REQUIREMENT AS OF 2005:

 

  1. A school coach or approved representative(s) MUST attend ALL races with their athletes. This includes the Fraser Valley Championships.
  2. Coaches MUST bring a record of athlete race participation/results etc. should eligibility issues arise.

Entries:

 

  • Athlete Registration can ONLY be submitted by e-mail using the REGISTRATION FORM ATTACHED to tdsc@sotique.com
  • Follow directions as outlined in submitting Athlete Registration.
  • Print a copy of your registration and print & retain the confirmation reply that you receive from Ted – these two documents provide the only proof that your entry has been received. Have them available on race day to clarify any problems.
  • If you have any concerns or problems with your submission you may contact Ted directly via e-mail at tdsc@sotique.com
  • Registration must be received by 7:00 pm on Wednesday October 21st.

·        A $50 LATE entry fee will be applied from October 21st 7:01 to October 26th 7:00  without exception.

Making Category Changes:

 

FOR AN ALREADY REGISTERED ATHLETE ONLY –( ie. moving a Junior boy to Senior boy)

 

  • By October 26 7:00                                                              No penalty

 

  • October 26 7:01 -  October 27 7:00                                  $10 per change

 

  • RACE DAY OCTOBER 28:                                                $20 per change.

 

Athlete  Identification:

 

1.      All athletes MUST be registered by name/division/gender.

 

2.      A computer bar code for each athlete will be provided upon registration.

 

3.      Athlete numbers, bar codes and pins will be available in registration packages for coaches on race day.

(There is no correlation between the athlete number and bar code – BUT – the bar code is specifically assigned to the athlete).

 

4.      Athlete numbers with the bar code MUST be worn and PINNED during the race and will be removed by finish officials only.

 

Team Scoring:        Team scoring is based on the finish of the first 5 runners.

            Teams may consist of unlimited numbers. 

                           The placement of the 5th scoring runner will be used to break a tie.

 

Awards:                   

·        Upon completion of each race:

Ribbons from 4th - 30th.

 

·        Presented as scheduled:    

Medals for the top 3 individuals

Banners for first place teams

Plaques for 2nd and 3rd place teams

7 Gold Medals for the first place teams – extras available at cost.

 

 

Fraser Valley Qualifications

 for the B.C. Provincial Championships

BOYS:           The top six senior boys’ teams, the first place junior boys’ team AND the top 37** boys in the Senior Boys’ race & the top 3 boys in the Junior Boys' race will represent the Fraser Valley at the B.C. Championships.

 

GIRLS:          The top six senior girls’ teams and the top junior girls’ team, the top 30** finishers in the Senior Girls’ race AND the next 10** fastest times (from either the Senior or Junior Girls’ race) will represent the Fraser Valley at the B.C. Championships.

 

**Individual qualifiers include those who are members of a qualifying team.

 

 

Only 7 runners per team maximum may be listed on the entry form to run in the B.C.’s (the first 5 runners score).

 

In order to advance to the BC’s a fee of $15.00 per qualifier MUST be paid at the registration table on the day of the Fraser Valley Championships. 

     

Cheques payable to BCSSCCTFA. Receipts will be issued.

     

PLEASE do not leave the venue without submitting your B.C. Entries and paying Greg Worsley

 

If a BC qualified athlete doesn’t plan to run at the BCs, please let Greg Worsley know.
