Aldergrove Lake Bowl

 

 

Location       Access off Lefeuvre Road  at about 6th Avenue. 

 

Directions     From the Freeway –Turn off freeway at  264th St. Go south to 8th Ave  turn left (East) until you reach Lefeuvre Rd (3.2Km).
Turn right (south) and go about 600m (opposite gravel pit).  Turn right into the park.

 

From the west - Go East along 16th Ave or Fraser Hwy. until you reach Lefeuvre Rd . Follow above directions going right each time into the park.

                       

Parking:        Main parking in the bowl area with some overflow out along the entry road the entrance gate.

Coaches/Sponsors:

 

  • Registration should be sent via e-mail to Wendy Lotnick  by  Wednesday, October 19th 

There is a $50 fee for late registrations.

 

  • Please register every athlete who may potentially run. No-shows are not a problem, but unregistered runners are.

 

  • Race numbers and computer bar codes will be provided for each athlete.  Registration packages which include numbers/ codes pins & maps will be available after 9:00 am.  All athletes MUST wear the bar codes provided in the package pinned to their jersey. IT IS NOT NECESSARY TO WEAR NAME TAGS .

 

  • A concession will be available with coffee, hot chocolate, drinks and snacks.

 

  • Please ensure that your athletes: 

ü    stay off the course during the races

ü    collect their finish stick and maintain their finish position and WALK COMPLETELY through the finish chute.

ü    Help keep the site clean by picking up garbage and using garbage cans

 

Eligibility:

 

  • Runners must have completed at least two FVSSAA sanctioned races for his/her school team during the season prior to the Fraser Valley Championships.  Club meets are NOT sanctioned.
  • All schools/athletes must meet the requirements of their district regulations and local athletic associations.
  • All schools must be registered with the Fraser Valley Athletic Association and B.C. School Sports.
  • Grade 8  -  must  be  registered in Grade 8
  • Junior  -  must be in grades 8, 9 and/or 10
  • Senior  -  must be in grades 8 to 12
  • Athletes may only run in ONE race.
  • Athletes may only compete for the school in which they are enrolled.
  • A school coach or approved representative(s) MUST be in attendance.
  • Coaches MUST bring a record of athlete race completition should eligibility issues arise.

 


Entries:

 

  • Athlete Registration can ONLY be submitted by e-mail using the REGISTRATION FORM.               
  • Follow directions as outlined in submitting Athlete Registration.
  • Print a copy of your registration and print & retain the confirmation reply that you receive from Wendy – these two documents provide the only proof that your entry has been received. Have them available on race day to clarify any problems.

  • Registration must be received by Wednesday October 19th.

·         A $50 LATE entry fee will be applied from October 20th to October 24th, 2011 without exception.

Making Category Changes:

 

FOR AN ALREADY REGISTERED ATHLETE ONLY –( ie. moving a Junior boy to Senior boy)

  • By October 24 - No penalty
  • After October 24 -   $10 per change

 

 

Athlete  Identification:

 

1.    All athletes MUST be registered by name/division/gender.

2.    A computer bar code for each athlete will be provided upon registration.

3.    Athlete numbers, bar codes and pins will be available in registration packages for coaches on race day. There is no correlation between the athlete number and bar code – BUT – the bar code is specifically assigned to the athlete.

4.    Athlete numbers with the bar code MUST be worn and PINNED during the race and will be removed by finish officials only.

 

Team Scoring:        Team scoring is based on the finish of the first 5 runners.

            Teams may consist of unlimited numbers. 

                           The placement of the 5th scoring runner will be used to break a tie.

 

Awards:                    Upon completion of each race:

·         Rosettes from 4th - 10th Ribbons from 11th - 30th.

 

·         Presented as scheduled:            

Medals for the top 3 individuals

Banners for first place teams (7 gold medals – extras available at cost)

Plaques for 2nd and 3rd place teams

 

 

Fraser Valley Qualifications

 for the B.C. Provincial Championships

BOYS:           Teams:          Top 7 Sr teams & top 1 Jr team -- (8 total)

                        Individuals*:Top 37 Sr runners & top 3 Jr runners -- (40 total)       

 

GIRLS:           Teams:          Top 7 Sr teams & top 1 Jr team -- (8 total)

Individuals*: Top 30 Sr runners & next 10 best times (Jr or Sr) -- (40 total)       

 

*Individual qualifiers include those who are members of a qualifying team.

 

Schools may choose their seven BC team competitors from all runners who qualified for the BCs from their school, whether they qualified from the Junior or Senior races.  No school may qualify two teams (from the same gender).

 

Only 7 runners per team maximum may be listed on the entry form to run in the B.C.’s (the first 5 runners score).

 

 

In order to advance to the BC’s a fee of $15.00 per qualifier MUST be paid at the registration table on the day of the Fraser Valley Championships. 

     

Cheques payable to B.C.S.S.C.C.T.F               (Receipts will be issued) 

 

PLEASE do not leave the venue without confirming BC registration AND paying Greg Worsley for your B.C. Entries. 

 

Please check in with the table if you qualify & can’t go and/or just missed qualifying.
