1. Whereas, the member schools may have questions/input about the championship,

2. Whereas, the current budget for Cross Country / Track & Field is combined, though they run in different seasons. Whereas, separate revenues are collected for Cross Country and Track & Field.

Moved Worsley (EP) Champagne (FWP) “Revenues collected for Cross Country is spent on cross Country and revenues collected for Track & Field is spent on Track & Field.”

3. Whereas, Cross Country and Track & Field run in different seasons. Whereas, Cross Country athletes are not recognized through scholarship in season.

Moved Worsley (EP) Champagne (FWP) “That the commission establishes two annual cross-country scholarships, one male & one female of a recommended value of $500 to be selected by a selection committee, to include representatives from no less than three zones.”

4. Whereas, equipment is needed to host a championship. Whereas, schools/zones often lack the funds to buy equipments to run quality meets in their own areas. Whereas, the commission is trying promote and enhance Cross Country across the province.

Moved Worsley (EP) Champagne (FWP) “That the commission establish a “host” legacy fund for equipment required to run the championship to be retained by the host committee to use for future use in their zone/district.”

5. Whereas, Cross Country takes on many forms across the province include leagues and provincially qualifying races. Whereas, many zones/districts may have better ways to deliver, promote and enhance Cross Country in the province.

6. Whereas, the Fraser Valley is the largest zone in BC. Whereas, berthing should be based on athlete participation and not on talent. Whereas, in the past Cross Country berth voting has been conducted at the Track & Field AGM in spring.
